Sankalp Yagam Performed for Historic 108 Maha Homa Yagams and Construction of Sri Seetha Rama Temple & Sri Rama Bhaktha Anjaneya Temple

Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu | 29 June 2026

A sacred Sankalp Yagam was performed on Monday, 29 June 2026, at Ram Vilas, No. 107, Balaji Nagar, IOB Colony, Maruthamalai Main Road, Coimbatore – 641046, invoking divine blessings for the successful organisation of the 108 Maha Homa Yagams scheduled for February 2027 and for the construction of the proposed Sri Seetha Rama Temple and Sri Rama Bhaktha Anjaneya Temple near Thiruthuraipoondi? Correction: Thiru Utharkosamangai (Rameswaram), Tamil Nadu.

The programme was organised by the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Social Welfare Trust and attended by devotees, spiritual leaders and well-wishers who gathered to pray for World Peace, Universal Harmony, and the establishment of Rama Rajyam based on the eternal principles of Sanatana Dharma.

The Sankalp ceremony was graced by Pujya Swamy Vegudupathy, Founder of Sri Hanumantheeswarar Trust, who is leading the vision for the construction of the proposed temples. During the ceremony, a solemn spiritual resolution was taken to organise one of India’s largest and most unique Vedic fire ceremonies.

108 Maha Homa Yagams – February 2027

The proposed Maha Yagam will feature:

108 Maha Homa Yagams

108 Sacred Yaga Kundams

Each Kundam will accommodate 18 devotees

Total participation of 1,944 devotees

The entire Yagam will be arranged in the sacred Sri Chakra Yantra formation, regarded in the Vedic tradition as one of the most powerful and spiritually significant geometric energy patterns.

More than nine different Maha Yagams will be performed during the event, following traditional Agama and Vedic practices.

Holy water collected from India’s sacred rivers and major pilgrimage centres will be ceremonially used in the Yagams.

Participation Model

To enable wider participation, the organisers have introduced a unique family-based participation model.

One member from each registered family will be seated at a Yaga Kundam at any given time.

Other family members will participate on a rotational basis, allowing every registered family to take part in different Yagams during the event.

This arrangement ensures that every participating family receives the spiritual benefits of multiple sacred rituals while maintaining the sanctity and smooth conduct of the ceremonies.

Spiritual Leadership

The organisers plan to invite 108 of India’s most revered spiritual leaders, including:

Jagadguru Shankaracharyas

Mahamandaleshwars

Peedathipathis

Sanatana Dharma Gurus

Revered Yogis

Saints and Spiritual Masters

who are expected to lead the Maha Yagams through Vedic chanting, blessings and sacred rituals.

Temple Vision

The Sankalp also marks the beginning of an ambitious spiritual project to establish one of the largest Sri Seetha Rama Temples in South India, together with a magnificent Sri Rama Bhaktha Anjaneya Temple near Utharkosamangai, Rameswaram. The temple complex is envisioned as a global spiritual destination dedicated to Dharma, devotion, Vedic traditions, and service to humanity.

The organisers have invited devotees, spiritual organisations, philanthropists and volunteers from India and around the world to participate in this historic spiritual movement.

“Let us unite through Dharma. Let us pray for World Peace. Let us build a timeless spiritual legacy for future generations.”
