Grand Ganesh Chaturthi Festival Celebrated on 7th September 2024 in Vadavalli, Coimbatore
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu – The vibrant celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi was held with great devotion on the 7th of September 2024 in Vadavalli, Coimbatore. The festival, marked by the installation of Lord Ganesha’s clay murtis (devotional representations of the deity), was observed both privately in homes and publicly on elaborately decorated pandals (temporary stages).
The festival’s observances included the chanting of Vedic hymns, recitations from Hindu texts, and prayers that uplifted the spiritual energy of the event. Devotees observed vrata (fasting) and made offerings of prasada, including sweets like modak, which is believed to be a favorite of Lord Ganesha.
The Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Social Welfare Trust, Coimbatore, organized a special Maha Prasadha Anadhanam at the Arulmigu Sri Rathna Vinayagar Temple in RS Puram, where thousands of devotees gathered to partake in the prasada. The public and members of the trust attended the event, which fostered a strong sense of community and devotion.
The Ganesh Chaturthi festival will conclude on the tenth day, when the Murti of Lord Ganesha will be carried in a public procession, accompanied by music and group chanting, and immersed in a nearby water body as part of the traditional visarjana on Ananta Chaturdashi. The clay Murti will dissolve, symbolizing Lord Ganesha’s return to his celestial abode.
The trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to all devotees and the temple management for their support in making this event a grand success.
